Well, we came here for after work drinks, so I can't much comment on the food. Also, somewhat annoyingly, there was no drink menu, no beer/wine list. It's nice to be able to sit with one and think about what to enjoy. Otherwise, it was a beautiful afternoon on the second-story balcony, where you can enjoy the breeze and you have a decent view, the service was okay, and I enjoyed my Blue Moon.

Been here for lunch and for late night drinks. Love the Mac N Cheese, it's killer. also great burgers. the atmosphere is really nice and clean and the upstairs bar has an awesome outdoor deck that has a great view. I recommend Station 21 for great food and cocktails.

We tried this restaurant for a second time, and for the second time were disappointed. Unlike other reviewers, we did not have any problems with service. The problem lie in the quality of the food. I ordered fish and chips, thinking this would be a safe bet; however the fish was literally dripping with grease. The paper in the basket was soaked with it. While the fish tasted ok, I really couldn't eat more than one piece. Fries were just plain awful and hubby agreed to that wholeheartedly. He ordered a simple grilled cheese sandwich and was not impressed; he wasn't expecting much and pretty much got what he expected. On the upside, I have heard from others that the burgers are good. Just not sure I'll return to find out firsthand.

We had the 5 Alarm burger and the O'Leary's Cow burger - both were great. Mac & cheese was awesome and enough for 4!

Been here a few times and really liked my meals each time. Had minor trouble with service once but the other two times were great. Good menu.

Great new place in downtown Crown Point, tons of TV's for sporting events and a very cool bar area upstairs, as well as outdoor seating when the weather is nice. Been there a bunch of times since it recently opened and have tried a lot of the different items on the menu, the 5 Alarm burger was my favorite but there are also a lot of other good items, the Macroni & Cheese is awesome as well!

Good food, good service, clean restrooms. I'll be back.

Went in for the first time on a Saturday night with a couple of girlfriends hoping to find a cool place to hang out. We are all CP natives and thought it'd be fun. There were only about 5 other people in the bar at that time. Our waitress was slow and she had no personality. Nothing exciting as far as decor or atmosphere goes, but at least it was quiet enough so we could talk and hear each other.

I was surprised at the negative reviews but perhaps we got lucky. The hostess was very friendly. We ate on the patio and had excellent service. We shared the spinach and artichoke dip. I had the yellowfin tuna tacos and my husband had the pulled pork. Both were very good.

Veggie Mac and Cheese was delicious. Atmosphere is good. Lots and lots of TV's. I'd go back.

I have been to 21 many times over the last year. The menu is small, very little changes, but every week there are specials. The chicken dumpling soup is by far the best I've ever tasted. The chili is good, got a tad bit of kick but not a lot. The Mac n cheese is very good, but one order is for two people. The blacken Salmon is freaken' awesome, the same goes for my favorite comfort food the pot roast. I tried the wings, I love wings, but theirs we just ok, nothing special. The ribs are good...but the NY Strip special is better. Very clean place, great tvs for watching a game while you eat. The restaurant itself supports local sport teams in the community and living in Crown Point, that means a lot. Supporting your community is awesome. The staff is young, but helpful, we have had moments of greatness there and at times had waited a little long for a burger. But...the burger was worth the wait, bacon cheese burger I had last night just rocked! I think all 21 needs is a gulf shrimp dish, a manager or chef visit to tables once in awhile to see how people are enjoying the food. I really like this place, I would take anyone there for lunch or dinner without fear of disappointment. Brick oven pizza's would be good too...and fit the restaurants style...just in case anyone from 21 reads this ;)

Love this place. My fiancé and I go here often. Talked one night with owner and he could not have been nicer. My fiancé sister and her boyfriend went here on a separate occasion and said they loved it and would definitely be back. A+++ Food is very good. Bar has a wide variety and they have Skinny Girl drinks - Bonus. Family dining downstairs, full bar upstairs with a lot of TV screens and some dining. Outside patio is great during the summer.

I always wondered why they chose the number 21. Now I know why... You have precisely 21 minutes to get to a bathroom after eating here, or you might just poop yourself. Otherwise, the food is good, but a tad over priced. Service is average, but the place looks amazing. Everyone is friendly and eating on the balcony is quite nice too. I would go here again, but I would make sure I was going straight home afterwards.

The Mac n Cheese is fantastic! My kids won't eat it, but it is an adult favorite!

Absoutly awful service. Teenagers more interested in talking to one another than waiting on customers. Management was non existent. Avoid, One who eats out 7-10 times/ wk

Great burgers. O'Leary's Cow is a win. Other entrees are a hit or miss, but this place is still fresh and has time and potential to grow. Check it out.

  • Jay B.

Service was awful, they never paid their construction crews! If you have an hour and a half for lunch, then you won't mind the wait. :(? I would eat bland food before coming back

Great place to watch a game at the bar, or dine outside on the second story balcony. The first time I came to 21 we sat upstairs, outside. Very nice. The fish & chips were lightly battered and very fresh. The only thing lacking was the size of my drink on the rocks. It was smaller than a usual rocks glass. small price to pay for the experience. The second time we went, we sat inside upstairs. Nice big booths and large tv over the bar. Not to mention, the booths have their own tv's - nice touch. 5-alarm burger was delicious - finally a burger that is actually hot. Gumballhead on tap was a perfect accompaniment. I would have given 5 stars but for one the rocks glass was too small and our first server in the bar area wasnt old enough to serve alcohol eventually having to give us to another server. Will become a regular spot for me as long as they are there

Had lunch on a Saturday. Service was prompt and friendly. We ordered burgers, prime rib dip and chili. Great grilled flavor on the burgers. Nice sized and good price. Prime rib was tender and tasty. Chili was solid too. Nice TV view from every seat. We'll return soon.

The service was good and the pot roast sandwich was excellent and the Monterey chicken was very good to a lot of food for good price. I can't wait till it's warm enough to sit outside on the patio balcony.

Amazing yellow fin tuna tacos, rice, and half of a fresh avacado.... my fav dish! Very clean, great drink menu

food has been great every time I've been there. favorites are the pulled pork, fish tacos, and their burgers! They also serve good beer / local beer. service has been great every time I've been there. never anything to complain about. good place for dinner in crown point.

What an awesome place to eat. Went there with my husband and kids and when I was stuck about what to get between two entrees our nice waitress suggested the fish and chips. She claimed it was spectacular and she was not lying. My husband had the reuben and thought it was great as well, but kept stealing my fish. The coleslaw was very tasty as well. Great service, decent prices and we will surely make the drive to have dinner there again.

  • Bob B.

The balcony kept this from being a 2 star. Cold rubbery fries and TERRIBLE service. Our waitress seemed annoyed at having to be there. My sandwich was ok, The outdoor dining on a beautiful afternoon was the only positive.

It was raining and we needed cover. This looked inviting from the outside. The first floor was dark and empty on a Saturday afternoon with the Bears playing. Should have been a clue. We asked to go upstairs. It had about 20 people there and it had a lot more light coming in. Not the lively place I was expecting. We got the chips and pico to start. The chips were nice and heavy with a good non greasy crunch. The chunky tomato sauce had no taste and had to be smothered with hot sauce to get rid of the sweetness. The pot roast sandwich was quite tasty and came with 4 slabs of meat. Or I thought. One of them turned out to be a chunk of gristle. Right! The mashed tots were not even warm? I tried a couple of my buddies fries. Geez Louise, I should have just run my tongue over a salt lick! The service was fine, but I am not thinking that this is a destination as the newest member of the Crown Point restaurant club!

Had dinner on the second story balcony. Great view from up there!! I started with an IPA from New Belgium. I took a chance and ordered the seared ahi tuna appetizer. It was excellent! I would suggest telling the server if you want your burger prepared less than medium well. The burgers are very good but they come out medium well/well done unless you specify. Overall great experience!

We have been to Station 21 several times. It's a decent place with lots of options for everyone in the group. However, this most recent visit has turned me off from returning any time soon. I ordered a burger and asked for a side of mayo as our food was brought out. The waitress said no problem. After waiting and watching everyone else in our party eat half their food, and seeing that the waitress was not coming back around, I decided to just eat. When I was more than halfway done, lo and behold, here comes the waitress. Annoying, but she apologized and I was fine with it. Flash forward to a charge on our bill for a side of mayo that I didn't even use because I'd already eaten most of my food by the time she brought it out! Add this to the slow service and lack of refills and it'll be a while before I'm back. Disappointing.

  • John T.

Great service, great spot to catch a drink and watch a game, and great food!! You must try any of their burgers (bison tends to be my favorite). In addition, I always get their wings (the dry rub is my favorite). So, why four stars instead of five? Well, I have ventured away from the burgers once or twice and haven't been very impressed by the result enough to give it 5 stars. The most disappointing thing I ate was arguably the beef sandwich. Nonetheless, this is an awesome place that I'd recommend to anyone.

We had an excellent lunch here. A friend suggested we meet here for lunch and I am glad she did. Service was great. Can't speak to the ambiance because I didn't really notice it, but the booth we sat at was clean and the noise level wasn't too bad. I think there are quite a few TV sets. I had a turkey club sandwich, and my companions had salads and we all enjoyed our food. One of the better places to eat lunch in Crown Point, go check it out.

This is a review based on what I ate but does not reflect the staff. My waitress was very attentive and nice so I would give her 5 stars. It was not her fault that the food was not awesome. My bill came to $25.00 and I'm the only one that ate. I had a drink, onion rings, chicken Caesar salad, chili and a dessert. Onion rings-- delicious!! They were nicely fried. they had a perfect crispness to them that I enjoy. The sauce was not very good though. I was starting to wonder what everyone's problem was that the stars were so low. I figured it out. Chili-- ok it was thick but there was almost no meat. It was beans with a thick sauce. It was also VERY spicy! It had a good flavor but I literally put 2 things of sour cream in there and it was burning my mouth! I admit I'm a spice wuss but another lady said the same thing to her friend at the table next to me. When chili is on the menu near the soups it should be mild for all tastes. They have hot sauce right on the table... Chicken Caesar Salad-- WTF man? At first the chicken seemed decent enough. After tasting a few bites it was super salty!! It was slightly rubbery though it was cooked and it was juicy so it must have been either pre-cooked or frozen. The Caesar dressing was not garlicky at all. Honestly after I eat this kind of salad I expect to knock people over when I breathe in a 5 ft radius! The croutons were RYE... Yes, you read that right. Not garlic, not Caesar croutons, not even seasoned... They were RYE bread croutons. They were good but not for a Caesar salad! Dessert-- I don't always have dessert but the menu said "strawberry cheesecake parfait" so I said "yes please!" No, no, no... The top layer seems to be cool whip that melted. There was a yummy fresh strawberry on top but that is where the goodness ended. Under the melty cool whip there was a cream cheese weird milky layer. Cannot describe it. This was made in advance because the fresh strawberries in the middle had 'juiced' and made the texture unpleasant. I cannot say that I would come back. I came here because my hubby had to have me wait for him while he was on a job. I wish I would have said "before you leave me let me look at the reviews!!" Because I should have just waited at Wendy's or somewhere on the Crown Point Square. P.S. -- like a few other reviewers I had to run to the restroom the second I got home.

I've eaten here many times and it's always been a good experience. They have a decent beer selection and an extremely good burger. Each time we dine here I've ordered something different -usually sandwiches- and they've never failed to please. The service has always been good and the staff is friendly. I deff recommend!

Place is great for just about any occasion. There's a bar upstairs which is nice if you bring kids there or you want to be away from kids. Food is really good and have never had anything but great service.

My husband and I were on our way back home from a tournament in Milwaukee, and found this little gem. The service was fantastic (manager even stopped by our table twice to check on us), the food options were plentiful (and very tasty!), and the place was nice, new and clean, not your typical smokey sports bar. They have a large menu that includes things like a strawberry and spinach salad, yellowfin tuna tacos, tasty burgers, lots of sandwich and pasta items, etc. Great options for the kiddos too! Definitely be coming back through here on our frequent trips to the Chicago area. Note: it's a couple miles off the interstate... but definitely worth the few extra miles to pass up the fast food options alongside the freeway.

This place was pretty good ! The waitress was awesome . She let me try a couple of beers before I picked one . The food was plentiful and had flavor . The potato soup tasted a lil salty . I had the pot roast pretty good . My grandma had the fish & chips . It was allot . My sister had the chicken wraps . She said they didn't taste that great . But she needs hot sauce on everything ! Lol they have a ok beer menu as well .

I have a hard time finding a Reuben sandwich that I enjoy... But Station 21 has it figured out! The service is downtowns slow depending on how busy they are, but the food is delicious and there are plenty of TVs to watch any sporting event that might be on.

  • Claudia K.

We really wanted this place to be good, it wasn't...... Mac & Cheese lacked seasoning. The Ruben was soggy. The Prime Rib sandwich also lacked seasoning and the bun was just plain blah, kinda tasteless. The fries that came with sandwich were cold and kind of tough which seemed odd. That said, we ate it, we were hungry. Rule of thumb is if you are going to have your kitchen window exposed to the diners you better bring it! They didn't. I bore witness to lots of plates sitting in the window, waitresses picking at the plates trying to figure out if it was theirs, waitresses dumping fries into a bowl that sat in window (hopeful that they went in the garbage), and what seemed to be a somewhat unorganized mess. Maybe it was just an off night. The first thing I saw when we sat down was bartender picking glasses of beer up by the rim of glass! It's my pet peeve and soooooo unsanitary that I considered drinking out of the bottle.

Tried the all in burger and it was literally all in! A dr.pepper helped wash it down and my drink was never empty. Our server knew what she was doing as well.

Love the environment when I am at Station 21 - whether coming in for a couple drinks or eating dinner with friends. They have a great variety of sandwiches and burgers and there's not a bad seat in the place since there are TV's EVERYWHERE! The bar staff upstairs is outstanding - Mike is warm and welcoming and it is a pleasant surprise when he is working.

  • Rebekah V.

I find my favorites and don't deviate much. I wouldn't want to deviate at this place. When I have, I've been disappointed. I love their Club 21 wrap and their macaroni and cheese. They do, however, have great drinks!

Not so good. Won't get into it all by picking it apart. But I have to say I Would not return. Pulled pork had globs of fat. Is the cook to lazy to pull it out, because it was very obvious. My daughter took a bite of all that fat and had to go puke. No lie. If cook is to lazy to pull such a large and obvious globs of fat then I'm sure they ate to lazy to do a lot of other things correct. Not worth the risk. Sorry

  • Mary M.

Meh. The food is overpriced. I ordered a house salad with chicken. The chicken was over cooked. The wait staff is okay (and slow). There were screaming children in an already loud bar. I couldn't hear what husband was saying across the table unless he shouted. I'm not going to rush to go back. On the plus side, they do have $6 cocktails (which I didn't get to try). Also: parking here is awful.

  • Ed R.

The building looks awesome on the inside. Really cool decor, and PLENTY of TVs so a great place to watch a game. From the outside you would expect a firehouse theme but nothing on the inside indicates that. The staff is very friendly and our service was really fast. The food is just okay but not overpriced so can't really complain. My wife loved her veggie macaroni & cheese.

  • Jon R.

Menu reads well...food is borderline terrible. Service lacks heavily on 2nd floor. Bartenders certainly have their favorites.

    (1)
  • Adrienne B.

I'll be honest, the first time my husband and I ate there, it was the worst experience dining out. At the time, the service was horrible-waitresses stood around talking and we waited for 15 minutes to get our drink order, the food was sent back 4 times for being incorrect (really, how hard is it to not put onion on something), and the manager picked sandwich apart with his fingers to try and prove that my husband was wrong about his order - the manager was wrong. We left vowing to never return, a rarity. Fast forward about a couple years later, I found a friend started working there. It gave us the oomph we needed to come back. Service was on par and the menu was good. We decided that perhaps they've changed (and we didn't see that same staff). For the past year or so, everytime we've visited, the service has been stellar - never have to ask for refills and management is always checking on the guest's well being too. This Spring, they introduced a seasonal menu with Ahi Tuna appetizer that is out of this world! My husband has ordered steak there 2 times and said it was cooked exactly the way he ordered. What was once the worst place to visit, has fast become one our favorite dining places!

I've only had the "O'Learys Cow" Burger here twice but I love it. Crisp applewood bacon, cheese, and avocado on a burger that is tasty. Service is so-so.

Here's a tip - when it's sweltering hot outside, turn on the air conditioning. There was plenty to not like on my trip to Station 21, but by far the lack of AC on a 100 degree day is most disconcerting. When I asked the server what the deal was, she just roller her eyes and said "There's nothing I can do. Sorry!" This means either A) The A/C is busted or B) The owner/manager of the place is looking to save a buck by keeping the A/C on 79 degrees. The food? Not very good. How do you mess up a well done cheeseburger? Cold french fries? Really? These are basics and should be prepared correctly. The salad was lettuce - and not much more. Would it kill you to put a couple of olives or something in it? One ring of onion for a cheeseburger is unacceptable. The atmosphere? The only positive I have about this place is that the decor is modern and looks good. Without a comfortable temperature, though, it's impossible to get settled in. Do you know what it's like sitting in a leather booth when the ambient temperature is north of 85 degrees? Swamp-ass city. The service? Not bad, but when your waitress is sweating bullets (there were beads of sweat rolling down her arm) you kind of feel, well, gross. This person will be handling your food, you DO NOT want a big drop of sweat topping your chopped salad. I actually felt sorry for this poor girl. The price? Way too much for what you get, but not overly expensive. The bottom line? Could be a great place based on location and decor, but as it stands I would highly recommend Station 21 for a spot on "Restaurant Impossible." Perhaps Robert Irvine could straighten it out.

I thought the food was really good, especially the baked potato soup. My only major complaint would be the noise level on the second floor that seemed to be emphasized by the tin-like ceiling. It's like every sound was reflected off of it. We were seated at a table that had a small tv in on the wall in the booth, which was cool because we could keep track of the news while waiting for our food. It was very busy when we arrived a little past lunch time, so parking was a challenge. Our server was very nice. The hostess was ehh...but we only had to talk to her for a minute. The prices are reasonable. Good experience overall.

If a ball game is on, you need to ask the bartender.....who's texting by the way....when she turned on the game (just one of seven TV's) I then had to ask for the sound. Food has always been below par. I do like this place for cocktails, because it is always empty.

Probably the best place in the area to watch a game with friends. Upstairs has a nice sports bar. The downstairs is more family based diners. Food is rather good and beer list is decent for northwest Indiana. Mac n cheese is great. The Reuben is rather good too. Service is always friendly.
